Cervical Cancer Surgery
Cervical cancer surgery occurs as a final resort if vaginal discharge continues, or if a pap smear has continually shown cancerous cells.
A LEEP, or loop electocautery excision procedure, is where a loop made of wire is used to scrape the area where the abnormal cells were found. Cryosurgery and laser removal are considered to be the most effective treatments for malignant tissues.

80% of tests come back positive for HPV. This is when a colposcopy is used to see the affected area and then a biopsy of the area is taken and tested for its cause or origin. Another surgical procedure used in removal is called an ECC (endocervical curettage). Cervical cancer surgery occurs as a final resort if vaginal discharge continues, or if a pap smear has continually shown cancerous cells.
