Screen For Cervical Cancer
In order to screen for cervical cancer, a pap smear or a biopsy if a venereal wart is present must be performed.
This test determines whether you carry high or low risk strains of the virus. The only problem is; if you don’t have abnormal cells, often times labs will not perform a Digene Hybrid Capture HPV DNA test. The common testing procedure for HPV infection is an annual pap exam.

STD testing in men unfortunately doesn’t include testing for the HPV virus. Some urologists can perform a penile urethral swab if no symptoms of HPV are present, and a biopsy if any warts are present. There is limited testing for men. In order to screen for cervical cancer, a pap smear or a biopsy if a venereal wart is present must be performed.
