Screening For Cervical Cancer
When a woman has a screening for cervical cancer, doctors may be looking for symptoms of lichen sclerosis, and especially cervical dysplasia.
After the age of 30 a combination Pap smear and HPV test should be performed. Early detection is key. It is important to have your annual exam to detect any symptoms of future cancerous tissue or cells. Testing for cancerous cells of the cervix is done through a Pap smear.

However since they carry the virus, they are still susceptible to other strains. Once this immunity is achieved, then they cannot be reinfected, nor transmit this particular strain. Approximately 34% of women achieve immunity to abnormal cells of the cervix within 9-18 months. When a woman has a screening for cervical cancer, doctors may be looking for symptoms of lichen sclerosis, and especially cervical dysplasia.
