Birth Control Pills Cervical Cancer
For women who take birth control pills, cervical cancer is a risk particulary if sexual behaviors increase exposure to HPV or cervical dysplasia strains of the virus.
Women who are positive for the STI human papillomavirus (HPV) could be at up to three times greater risk of developing malignancies if they have used Pill for five years or longer. But there is no evidence that long-term contraceptives use increases the risk in women who don’t have HPV.

Past or current use of combination oral contraceptives prevents uterine (endometrial adenocarcinoma) forms of the disease. For these patients the relative risk for developing malignant tumor is 0.5. But it has the opposite effect on other kinds of malignant tumors. For women who take birth control pills, cervical cancer is a risk particulary if sexual behaviors increase exposure to HPV or cervical dysplasia strains of the virus.
