Colposcopy During Pregnancy

Having a colposcopy during pregnancy is relatively safe for detecting HPV, as long as the cervix is left undisturbed. Abnormal areas are seen as white. If the abnormalities are very small, they can be removed by a biopsy during the same visit; large abnormalities are examined and a sample is taken from them for further examination. The procedure doesn’t affect the ability to conceive and give birth. Having a colposcopy during pregnancy is relatively safe for detecting HPV, as long as the cervix is left undisturbed.
