Pap Smeer
A pap smeer, or pap smear, is performed on the cervical tissue and if an abnormality is found a cone biopsy is done to determine severity.
The procedure takes about 10-15 minutes and is rather painless, but may cause slight discomfort. If abnormalities are found, it is necessary to perform additional tests, such as colposcopy and biopsy to make a proper diagnosis and determine the nature of the abnormalities.
