Cervical Dysplasia-HPV
With the condition of cervical dysplasia-HPV is often found present and usually more than one strain of the human papillomavirus is diagnosed, but the symptomless HPV 16 and 18 strains are the most dangerous.
Women who are at risk of contracting this infection are those who have sex at an early age, who smoke, and are exposed to multiple sexual partners. There are three types of this condition: mild, moderate, and severe. Mild dysplasia is by far the most common, and probably is not a true premalignant disease, normally disappearing on its own. The more dangerous strains of Human papilloma virus have no visible symptoms.

This condition of abnormal cell growth on the cervix is strongly linked to human Papillomavirus. Over 90% of women diagnosed with this condition carry Human papilloma virus. This virus if left untreated will result in recurrent abnormal cell growth. If a pap diagnoses dysplastic cells cervically it is important to be tested for the Human papilloma virus.
