Colcoscopy
A colcoscopy exam allows making a proper diagnosis of even minor disorders, such as ASCUS, vaginitis and mild dysplasia.
A solution of acetic acid is wiped on the cervix and abnormal dyskaryotic/dysplastic cells will stain white. After a repeated Pap smear test it is necessary to examine the cervix of the patient with a special binocular microscope – a colposcope.

The most common form of treatment is called LLETZ in the British Isles, and LEEP elsewhere. Women who have an obvious abnormality or who have a positive biopsy result will proceed to treatment.
