Colposcopy Result
A colposcopy result helps to determine the disorders caused by HPV, such as genital wart, cervical dysplasia, etc.
It may be necessary to take a sample (biopsy) from the affected area for further analysis. In some cases, the treatment is performed at the same time with examination. The procedure is performed to confirm the negative Pap test and identify where the abnormal tissues are.

Examination without biopsy doesn't have any side effects, though some pain, bleeding, and dark discharge are possible for a couple of days. A very deep biopsy may weaken the cervix.
