Guidelines Colposcopy
With special guidelines colposcopy performed after a pap smear, it is easy to determine vulvar vestibulitis, cervical dysplasia and other problems.
The outer cervix is painted with an iodine solution which highlights abnormal areas. This term stands for examining the surface of the cervix with a special electronic microscope with a bright light on the end of it, called a colposcope.
With special guidelines colposcopy performed after a pap smear, it is easy to determine vulvar vestibulitis, cervical dysplasia and other problems.

If the problem is rather small, it can be just cut out (the procedure is called conization). To determine the nature of the problem, biopsies are taken from those abnormal areas. The abnormal areas are seen as white and not transparent. With special guidelines colposcopy performed after a pap smear, it is easy to determine vulvar vestibulitis, cervical dysplasia and other problems.
