Loop Procedure
A loop procedure or leep procedure is used for removing abnormalities of the cervix; it is not typical for treating vulvar vestibulitis.
This operation may be done during the initial colposcopy exam. It is used to treat and diagnose cervical dysplasia at the same time, often replacing biopsy. "LLETZ" or "LEEP" is the operation for removing abnormal areas of the cervix for examination.
A loop procedure or leep procedure is used for removing abnormalities of the cervix; it is not typical for treating vulvar vestibulitis.

The operation is usually done under local anesthesia and causes little discomfort, though some bleeding and itching afterwards is possible. The removed tissue is send to the laboratory for examination. During this operation, a fine wire with electrical energy flowing through it is used. A loop procedure or leep procedure is used for removing abnormalities of the cervix; it is not typical for treating vulvar vestibulitis.
