Colpolscopy
A colpolscopy is usually recommended when symptoms including abnormal vaginal discharge, pain, and growths on the cervix are present.
Usually this procedure is performed after an abnormal Pap smear test to detect the nature of the problem. Often it is accompanied by biopsy (taking a sample of the abnormal area.) If abnormal area is rather small, it can be removed completely during the same visit to the doctor.
