Loop Biopsy
Loop biopsy accompanied with colposcopy carries less risk of vulvar disease than cryosurgery.
During the procedure a fine wire with electrical energy flowing through it is used. The removed tisue is send to the laboratory. The operation is usually done under local or general anesthesia and causes little discomfort, though some bleeding and itching afterwards is possible.

Loop Biopsy -
Colposcopy, Vulvar
"LLETZ" or "LEEP" is the procedure for removing abnormal areas of the cervix. It can treat and diagnose cervical dysplasia, often replacing cone biopsy. This procedure may be done during the initial colposcopy exam, because the problem is treated and diagnosed. Loop biopsy accompanied with colposcopy carries less risk of vulvar disease than cryosurgery.
