A Typical Cell Pap Smear
An a typical cell pap smear shows that there is abnormal cervical cells, possibly from the HPV virus that causes verruca.
CIN 1 or mild dysplasia is very common and may dissappear by itself thanks to immune system. CIN 2 or moderate dysplasia involves about a half of cervical tissues and should be treated immediately. CIN 3 or severe dysplasia is actually pre-cancer.

Before abnormal tissues are formed, early changes occur in the cervix, which are not cancerous, but may lead to cancer, if not treated for a long time. These abnormal tissues are called intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) or cervical dysplasia, which has three grades. An a typical cell pap smear shows that there is abnormal cervical cells, possibly from the HPV virus that causes verruca.
