Colposcopy Examination
A colposcopy examination is usually done if there is an abnormal pap result, colposcopy being the step before a leep procedure.
Abnormalities may be caused by HPV, dysplasia, infections, cancer and other causes. The procedure is rather simple and takes about 15-20 minutes. It is performed in a physician’s office with a help of a colposcope – a large electric microscope with a light on the end of it.
