Cervical Biopsy
A cervical biopsy must be conducted before performing cryosurgery for condyloma of the cervix.
This sample is sent to a lab for analysis of the abnormal cells present on the cervix to more accurately determine the level of symptoms. This is a tissue sample that is taken when a colposcopy is performed as a follow-up diagnostic tool to an abnormal pap smear.
A cervical biopsy must be conducted before performing cryosurgery for condyloma of the cervix.

In most cases more than one tissue sample is obtained. The tissue sample is collected by using small biopsy forceps or a large needle. A doctor will take a tissue sample from areas that appear to be abnormal from performing the colposcopy. A cervical biopsy must be conducted before performing cryosurgery for condyloma of the cervix.
