Cervical Cancer Vaccine
No cure is yet available for cervical cancer, vaccine is being researched to prevent cervical dysplasia, an early progression of HPV oncogenic development.
Testing for cancerous cells of the cervix is done through a Pap smear. It is important to have your annual exam to detect any symptoms of future cancerous tissue or cells. Early detection is key. After the age of 30 a combination Pap smear and HPV test should be performed.

Approximately 34% of women achieve immunity to abnormal cells of the cervix within 9-18 months. Once this immunity is achieved, then they cannot be reinfected, nor transmit this particular strain. However since they carry the virus, they are still susceptible to other strains. No cure is yet available for cervical cancer, vaccine is being researched to prevent cervical dysplasia, an early progression of HPV oncogenic development.
