Cervical Smear
Cells of a cervical smear is taken and sent to the lab for patholigist to examine for cervical dysplasia mainly caused by HPV.
There are no risks involved in the test. Estrogen, colchinine, podophylin, progestin, silver nitrate, and cigarette smoking may affect the results. If the woman has never had abnormal results before, the test is repeated in 6 months. Every woman is recommended to pass through this test annually.

It is a microscopic examination of cells scraped from the cervix. It can detect cancerous and precancerous conditions. A normal value is when the test is negative. There may be some discomfort during the procedure, a small amount of bleeding may occur after the test.
