Cervix Examination
A cervix examination is recommended when a venereal wart or vulvar hpv infection is present.
The color, uterine positions, and presence of discharge are also noted. This is usually done by gently scraping off loose cells at the cervical opening and sent to a lab for evaluation. A cervical exam will include a Pap smear test to detect abnormal cell growth (cervical dysplasia).
A cervix examination is recommended when a venereal wart or vulvar hpv infection is present.

If the dysplasia is more severe the doctor may recommend a coposcopy, for a closer look at the cervical tissue. If the pap smear test results find abnormal cervical cells you may need a repeat pap test in a few weeks to see if the cells repaired themselves without treatment. A cervix examination is recommended when a venereal wart or vulvar hpv infection is present.
