Effaced Cervix
An effaced cervix could lead to infertility, and if not protected could lead to cervical cancer.
The effacement and dilation can begin a month before the delivery, or it can wait until the last few hours. It is expressed in percentages: if you begin pushing, the effacement is 100%. Cervical effacement is the thinning of the cervical opening in preparation for birth.

Effaced Cervix -
Infertility, Cervical Cancer
Occuring in the second or third trimester, it may be the cause of late miscarriage or premature birth. Incompetence is a condition when dilation and effacement begins before the pregnancy has reached term. After the effacement cervical dilatation (opening) begins, rated from 0 to 10 cm. An effaced cervix could lead to infertility, and if not protected could lead to cervical cancer.
