Biopsy Of Cervix
Biopsy of the cervix is advised if ASCUS is repeated on followup Pap smear.
Sometimes this procedure itself can be used to cure pre-cancers or very early cancers;
another reasons for doing the procedure are: abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility. It usually takes 15-30 min; light bleeding is possible after it. Complications are not common, infection can occur very rarely.
