ASCUS, Pap Smear
ASCUS is one of the causes of this condition. The root of all atypical changes in the squamous cells is the human papilloma virus. There are over 30 types of HPV that are responsible for this condition. Early cancer of the cervix can be exhibited as ASCUS on a Pap smear.
