The signs of such disorder are: pelvic heaviness, discomfort, and lots of discharge. Weakening from the previous childbirth, surgery, or late pregnancy termination may cause it. Many times a cause cannot be found. The condition is very dangerous and may lead to miscarriage at 18-24 weeks.

Cervical canal about 1.5-2 inches long connects the uterus to the vagina and keeps the uterus closed. This cervical disorder occurs when the dilation goes without contraction in mid-pregnancy.
