Cervical Colposcopy
A cervical colposcopy is usually performed when vaginal discharge is present and vaginosis.
The abnormal areas are seen as white. If the entire abnormal area can be viewed through a colposcope, a sample may be taken for further analysis and treatment with cryosurgery may be performed at once. If the abnormality is very extended, cone biopsy or LEEP are performed.
A cervical colposcopy is usually performed when vaginal discharge is present and vaginosis.

This procedure helps to visualize the surface of the cervix to determine the cause of the abnormalities shown by a Pap smear test. The abnormalities may indicate dysplasia, HPV, ASCUS or other problems, so proper diagnosis is very important for preventing cancer. A cervical colposcopy is usually performed when vaginal discharge is present and vaginosis.
