Leap Cone Biopsy
Treatments for cervical dysplasia may include the LEEP or leap, cone biopsy or cryotherapy are performed with an ASCUS reading from a pap smear test.
The procedure is used both for diagnosis and treatment. To remove the tissue a doctor may use either laser or loop electrosurgical excision (LEEP); sometimes a surgical knife is used. Some vaginal bleeding and discomfort is possible for up to 1 week.

It is a procedure for removing a piece of tissue to be examined under a microscope. During the operation a cone-shaped wedge of tissue is removed from the cervix to get rid of the abnormal tissue that is high in the cervix.
