Mild Cervical Dysplasia

Mild cervical dysplasia is commonly detected through an ASCUS Pap smear. Some doctors will recommend a colposcopy with biopsy after getting this pap reading. This will offer a second reading on the abnormal cells; so if treatment is actually needed, doctors can recommend it. The most common treatments for this level are cryotherapy or laser treatment. Mild cervical dysplasia is commonly detected through an ASCUS Pap smear.

  -

ASCUS, Pap Smear

This is the low level of abnormal cells of the cervix, also called LGSIL (low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions) or CIN I. At this level the majority of cases are not treated immediately since most women at this stage will clear the abnormal cells on their own within a few months. Mild cervical dysplasia is commonly detected through an ASCUS Pap smear.
