Moderate Cervical Dysplasia
Moderate cervical dysplasia often has HPV present when a pap smear is performed.
The Human Papilloma virus brings about these dysplastic cells. Cryotherapy can still be used at this stage for treatment, but many doctors prefer the LEEP procedure or cone biopsy. The abnormal cells still may go away on their own at this stage, even if no procedures are performed.

Moderate Cervical Dysplasia -
HPV, Pap Smear
A level of dysplastic cells of the cervix that is identified as the second or middle stage. It is also termed as HGSIL (high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions) or CIN II. Doctors normally begin recommending that the cells be removed surgically at this stage. Moderate cervical dysplasia often has HPV present when a pap smear is performed.
