Severe Cervical Dysplasia
Severe cervical dysplasia may turn to cervical cancer and can be diagnosed with a cone biopsy.
Since this stage is a more advanced stage, most doctors recommend a surgical procedure to remove the damaged cells. The LEEP procedure and cone biopsy are the two mostly suggested. Even at this stage though, HPV can be cleared by your immune system.

Cervical Cancer, Cone Biopsy
This stage is also called CIN III or HGSIL (high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions) and is the highest level of precancerous or abnormal cells found on a pap smear. The Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is the cause of these irregular cells that develop and multiply. Severe cervical dysplasia may turn to cervical cancer and can be diagnosed with a cone biopsy.
