Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is abnormal cell tissue caused by the HPV virus that affects the cervix. CIN 3 is a severe dysplasia or carcinoma in situ, which is actually cancer that doesn’t extend beyond the epithelial membrane. This condition is very dangerous, because it may turn into invasive carcinoma and spread to healthy tissues of other organs. CIN means development of the abnormal changes in the cervix and may lead to cancer. There exist three stages of CIN: CIN 1 – mild dyslasia, which is usually healed by itself due to strong immune system; CIN 2 is a moderate dysplasia when about a half of cells are abnormal. Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia is abnormal cell tissue caused by the HPV virus that affects the cervix.
