The procedure cyrosurgery is often performed when verruca HPV genital viruses are detected, but not with infections like vaginosis. The instrument is made cold by liquid nitrogen flowing through it. The procedure is rather simple and has no side effects, though some discomfort and cramping may occur. Several follow up Pap smears are necessary to evaluate the results of the procedure. This procedure is often used to treat cervical dysplasia, cervical cancer and abnormal cervical bleeding by freezing the abnormal cells.
