When cancercervix is detected a colposcopy is recommended along with a cone biopsy to determine the severity. For precise diagnosis coloscopy and biopsy are necessary. There exist several methods for curing this condition: by surgery (cryosurgery, laser therapy), chemotherapy and radiotherapy. A radical hysterectomy (removal of the uterus and the ovaries) often performed on the advanced stages. This condition is rather dangerous, because on the earliest and the most treatable stages there are practically no symptoms, then abnormal bleeding and mucous discharge may appear, pelvic pain during intercourse is possible.
