Cervical Biopsy

Cervical biopsy can help to confirm disorders that may lead to vaginosis or vulvar vestibulitis. The operation is done with anesthesia. The speculum is put into the vagina and the doctor cuts a piece of the tissue with a knife or with a laser, so bleeding is possible. New tissue is usually normal and grows back in 4 to 6 weeks. Cervical biopsy can help to confirm disorders that may lead to vaginosis or vulvar vestibulitis.
